About the Vitali Chair
I am honored to be the inaugural holder of the Theodore R. Vitali, C.P. Chair in Philosophy. This endowed chair position was made possible by a $2 million bequest by Fr. Vitali, who retired in 2024 after many years of service to Saint Louis University, including 28 years as department chair. During this period of extraordinary leadership, he helped raise the graduate program’s profile to rank as one of the top 50 in the nation.
If you would like to help Fr. Vitali's generosity to reach its full fruition, SLU is seeking donations toward matching his gift here.
